한국에는 건축사, 건축기능사, 기술사 등등 여러 분야에 공인전문가 자격제도가 있는데
이곳 캐나다 온타리오에도 OBC(Ontario Building Code)에 따라 건축과설계부분에서
각분야별로 여러 공인자격제도가 있습니다.
한국에 비하면 많지는 않지만,
특이하게도 건축분야에서 다른주에 없다는 Building Designer라는 직업군이 있습니다.
House Building Designer
Small Building Designer
Large Building Designer
Complex Building Designer 등등...
그외에도 공조,배관,전기 등 여러분야에 기술사 자격증도 있습니다.
아무래도 도시가 팽창하고 발전되고 있기에 많은 건설인력과 건축관련 업무자가 필요하다보니
예외적으로 소규모내지 한정된 분야에 집중된 건축인력을 확보하기 위한 제도라고
알고있습니다.
즉 건축사는 아니어도 설계와 허가 및 감리 업무를 대행할수 있는 직업인거죠!
현재 온타리오 주정부에서는 Humber College에 이에 관한 시험을 주관하도록 이관하여 실시하고 있습니다.
위의 각 단계별 시험과목을 선정하여 수업을 듣거나 교재를 구입하여 스스로 공부하고
시험을 치르면 그에 해당하는 자격을 부여해줍니다.
예를 들어 스몰빌딩을 설계하고 허가맡고 계획하는 일을 하고 싶다면
스몰빌딩디자이너 코스를 선택하여 듣고
두과목(Legal + Small)만 공부하여 시험을 보면 디자이너로써 일을 할수 있습니다.
캐나다에서 건축일을 직접경험하고 싶다는 아주 좋은 제도라고 생각합니다,
물론 공부는 열심히 해야겠죠?^^
꼭 들어야 하는것은 아니지만 조지브라운 컬리지에서 강좌를 온라인으로 수강할수도 있습니다.
